Muscle relaxing

Our muscle relaxing injections are used to treat a wide range of concerns,aside from addressing signs of ageing. At Face to Face Skincare and Aesthetics, I use Bocouture by Merz and Botox by Allergan. Both are renowned brands that are known for their safety and results when offering anti-wrinkle treatments. On the upper face, we use them to target traditional signs of ageing such as forehead wrinkles and fine lines by the eye. On the bottom of the face, anti-wrinkle can be used to correct gummy smiles, relax and smooth neck muscles, as well as helping to slim the jaw to bring back symmetry.

All muscle relaxing options are offered ONLY after a full consultation, all treatments must be completed after full consent and a further appointment will be made for you to have the treatment later. Muscle relaxants are all POMS (prescription only medicine) and so each session is specifically prescribed to you individually.

A review is offered up to a maximum off 2 weeks post treatment to see initial results and if areas require smaller top ups or tweakments, then this will be offered on the 2^nd appointment.

Upper Face

Muscle relaxing injections are a fantastic treatment for reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the upper face.

They can be used on a number of concerns like; forehead wrinkles, eleven lines (between the eyebrows), frown lines and crow’s feet. In some cases in a suitable candidat,  after assessment they can also be used to help give a subtle lift to the eyebrows in a brow lift. These injections work by targeting the muscles in the face that cause the appearance of wrinkles and relaxing them so that the surface of the skin appears smoothed and softened lines. (Please note deeper sun damaged skin with lines may improve, but static lines may still be visible even after treatment.) Having regular muscle relaxant injections can be a great way of preventing static lines forming over areas of high movement such as the forehead when started in late 20/early 30’s. There are other options like dermal fillers, skin boosters and microneedling that can also be offered to help soften lines and wrinkles around the face. These will be discussed during the consultation as they may be more suitable and give a better outcome.

Lower Face

Muscle relaxant injections are used to treat several concerns in the lower face and neck.

These range from jawline slimming, improving lip lines and gummy smile, dimpled chins, to softening neck bands.Excessive muscle build-up of the Platysma band muscles in the neck can cause the dreaded ‘turkey neck’ Muscle relaxing injections work by targeting the muscle and relaxing them so the skin appears smooth and the muscle softens, helping restore a softer line and appearance. If you suffer from a masculine wider shaped jaw, then these can help slim down the appearance and give a more feminine face shape and slim the jaw giving a more balanced appearance.

NOTE: Please note all anti-wrinkle results are individual and cannot be guaranteed. I work closely with my patients to achieve natural results but both final results and length of results very much depends on lifestyle factors; with active individuals and those with high metabolism and individuals who have strong dominant muscle groups, then results may reduce quickly and this may require more regular top ups. With all new patients we are on a journey to get to know your muscle groups and their response to regular treatment. It is normal to require top up treatments on average every 3 months but some patients will prefer longer periods or indeed slightly shorter periods in between to keep consistent results and depending on their personal skin goals.
